We are staying at the Danver’s branch of the Days Inn motel chain, the same place that we stayed at for a night when we arrived in the USA.. We had pre-booked the first stay via the internet, but since internet connection has been sparse during our holiday , we just took a chance that we could just turn up and get a bed for the night on arrival.Yes indeed we can, but please note that it will cost you more than if you had booked on-line. <grrrr> So a booking made directly with a receptionist at a desk cost more than one made by email? Darn.
So… if you are traveling and think that you will also take this chance then please let this be a warning to you, you are paying extra booking this way.
All that we wanted was a cheap, clean place to sleep for a night, we were not going to be spending much time in the rooms and in the end a bed is a bed and with small kids in tow we only require the simple basics that a chain like this provides.
What I like about a lot of American Hotel rooms is that in one room there are often two double beds. This is ideal if you are traveling with two small children, they are too scared and too little to share an adjourning room by themselves, they want to be close to us, so one double bed for the Kiwidutch Parents and another for the kiwidutch kids to share in the same room is perfect.
This means that we don’t have to pay for two separate hotel rooms as well. The children of our friends are also small enough to share the same configuration, so two standard rooms, each room with two double beds in it are an ideal for two families of four on a budget.
The amenities are simple but adequate and we sleep well. Exactly what was wanted. The snow plow at the end of the car park tells us that it must be cold here in winter, but we are enjoying fabulous weather.

Great picture of the truck with the snow plow; for sure they are using it now! Thinking of you my friend basking in the warm weather!
Merry Christmas!
