This post is dedicated to Little Mr. He has his feminine softer side but his first love remains anything with wheels. I suspect there is an undiscovered male gene for this, are we really sure that there’s not a “vehicle-crazy” genetic trait hard-wired into little boys?
Spotting any vehicle belonging to the Emergency Services while we are out and about instantly makes his day, and if said vehicle has lights blazing and sirens blaring then he actually become rapturous, unlike me, who’s first thought is always the predictable ” Please God, don’t let anyone be dead”.
I know he’s still little and not knowledgeable in the more serious aspects of this all, but unusual vehicles also have an amazing effect on him, so the bigger and weirder looking the vehicle the better as far as he’s concerned.
The first time we passed a hedge trimming vehicle on it’s way home from a job (I’m assuming since it was early evening) he was excited, the second time we saw one it was actually doing some trimming, so the excited noise in the back seat rose to a decibel level that only small boys appear to be capable of producing. (they should harness this sound for alarm systems, it’s excruciating).
The resulting work is the “sides” equivalent of a short back and sides haircut, trees and hedges trim up neatly to make driving safer.
So, yes my darling son, I will post this especially for you. You asked so nicely, the look in your eyes was pleading.
But I will remind you again that you may regret this request when you are 21, (but at least if you are reading this then, you will not be giving me a blank uncomprehending look for the warning …and Yes, I agree totally with you: your Mama has an evil sense of humour).

Who wouldn’t be impressed with such a machine! We need those in the states as they make things all neat and trim.
