I Know it Rains a Lot here but Did You Know You have an Ark in your Street?

Ok… who of you had your arty eyes peeled and noticed something extra of interest in yesterday’s post?

Today I’m still in my archive stash of photos and still in Galileïstraat  (Galileo street) in The Hague.

This time it’s not the white wall with the famous quote that we are looking at, but the artwork on the street facing wall that is almost beneath it.

There are six bricked up areas in the wall that form three shallow double alcoves, and these have been painted with what looks like Biblical scenes. There’s the Ark of Noah on one set,  but I haven’t quite worked out which other bible stories the other are representing.

Any clues?

One thing is for sure, it certainly brightened my day when I found these cheerful images.

  1. I so enjoy seeing what you see, traveling with you. BTW, how is your foot these days?
