Ok, I have never been famous for my mathematical skills or scientific mind…
…basically my inner creative had troubles with being kept in captivity in school so I drew constantly on all my books, in the margins of my notes and liberally illustrated every single piece of paper I ever had to hand in to teachers.
My inner-creative was happy and this worked rather well in every subject except Maths and Sciences.
Under duress I could draw extensive illustrations to depict blood circulation of the human body, and the detail fanatic in me even quite liked the challenge of attempting botanically correct plant drawings in Biology, but the ”real” nitty-gritty scientific content of these subjects may have well as been some little used, near extinct and mostly undecipherable language, presented neatly in close-typed pages to a blind person, for the few nano-scraps of information I managed to retain.
So.. what was it about magnetism again? “opposites attract and like repels. ” Ok.
We were visiting my cousin “P’s” place and the Kiwidutch kids spied what looked like smooth little stones. They were real stones too and heavy ones too… only they were ionized (or something like that…. I warned you my retention skills in this subject were about nil.)
Yes, they stick to each other like regular magnets, and repel each other too if you turn them around.
..but how do the bottom ones manage to “hang on” when Kiwi Daughter’s finger comes between the magnets? …does the magnetism flow though her finger? (really???)
…and how can just two stones at the top support the five stones on the bottom???
Nah… this can’t possibly be Science…surely this has to be magic.
