I’m at home sick, my throat feels like sandpaper, my nose wants to run and my chest hurts when I cough. I’ve been in contact with the Lung Specialist and have a box of antibiotics next to me (yes …I will be sure to finish the entire course) … and I’m sitting in bed feeling miserable so the “bright idea” of checking my blog springs into my leaden head.
What could go wrong? well uh, you “could” press a few wrong buttons and accidently publish a post you didn’t even realise you were making in the first place.
Hmm… plan of action: apologise for the mess to my readers, take paracetamol for my thumping headache, give up on the computer (sorry email , tomorrow, or the day after is another day) and roll over and try and combine wheezing with sleep.
So… apologies for my stupidity dear readers, I’m definitely not firing on all cylinders today. I already had this week’s blog posts in the schedule… now it’s time to try try and rest and let the drugs wage war on some germs.
Oh, dear me!! You poor, poor thing….sooooo sorry you are so sick! I’m sending you good thoughts and warm hugs for a speedy recovery!

Tracy,
It’s probably got a lot to do with the fact that temperatures plummeted in the last 10 days as autumn kicked in the door and made itself at home and that every second person we know seems to have caught the local bugs and passed them around. Or we just were unlucky… oh well hopefully the drugs will kick in quick and help me shake this off quickly. Thanks for a good thoughts and warm hugs, they are appreciated!
Himself suggested a shot of whisky in jest but (a) I hate the stuff and (b) I’ve added to the long list of medications that stipulate no alcohol , so his whisky stash is perfectly safe (as it always is LOL)

Goodness, Kiwi, I hope someone is around to give you a little extra TLC. Take good care and feel better.

Thanks for the kind wishes Lulu,
I tried to sleep this morning and that didn’t really work well, too much coughing but after lunch I told Himself (who has a home office) that I’d be having a “nap” and ended up sleeping for 5 and a half hours! I didn’t even hear Himself bring Kiwi Daughter home from school ( school phoned to tell him she’s also sick, it’s now early evening and she’s already in her bed, asleep upstairs) or hear him take Little Mr. to Football after school!
Stupid thing is I’m still dog tired, so I can see more sleeping and a lot of rest for Kiwi Daughter and I tomorrow.
We are all aiming to get back to good health as soon as possible.

No more bright ideas, young lady! You’re allowed to stay in bed and be lazy and cranky when you’re sick. Maybe you and Kiwi Daughter can snuggle up together?

Hi Luddy,
Kiwi Daughter and I have been feeling hot and cold, both have sore throats and are tired so I put the heating on low in my bedroom and we’ve been playing board games on the double bed in between naps. NO television, just quiet and rest… the biggest action of the day has been a competition who can drink two very large glasses of water each first (not easy with a sore throat for either of us). Giggling isn’t great for coughing fits either. ‘but… Oh well.
Sadly she’s ruthless “mens erger je niet” player (I think that’s “ludo” in English) and I simply can’t win a game.
