I have a confession Dear Readers: you know this is a journal of the travels we made at the beginning of this year… and that I frequently use the WordPress Schedule to organise my posts.
Well, this week I failed… like a juggler with too many balls in the air, it was inevitable that I was going to mess it up on at least one occasion (what! I hear you say “only once?”)
This last week “life happened” and we had a little too much drama at home: Little Mr. had a bad earache but was slowly recovering, I was getting over a nasty chest infection, and Himself ended up overnight in hospital on oxygen after an epidural for a routine operation that should have taken a few hours went wrong and the anaesthetic went up to his lungs instead of down to his legs.
He couldn’t breathe so they quickly knocked him out with a general anaesthetic so that they could help him and after completing the operation he stayed in the post-op recovery unit for about seven hours. Then they took him to a ward where he slept for a while (and more oxygen) whilst they kept a close eye on him and sorted out if he would be ok to go home… (he wasn’t).
A friend drove me and the kids to the hospital to see him and to deliver an overnight bag, and I took some time off work to cover the mornings kid duty (Little Mr. being recovered enough to go back to school) and to slowly get things organised in the house for Himself’s return.
He came back later the next morning, groggy, sore and very very tired, stayed up for an hour to have lunch and then said he would sleep for a half hour… he was still asleep almost five hours later so it was clear he was exhausted. Friends and family have stepped in and helped to take kids to their activities, do grocery shopping etc as I still can’t drive or walk far.
In recent days it’s been “life in the slow lane” as I try to stop Himself from doing too much. He’s still sore and tired so that means lots of rest. Naturally I didn’t spend any time doing stuff in my usual blog routine… like checking.
Consequently I made several posts and labeled them in the wrong order when I dated them for posting… Duh.
I know you are all a very intelligent bunch who can handle a few time warped blog posts… (right?)
That’s why today you are going to be whisked back in time (just a tad) and are about to come in to land in Singapore…there are two posts out of order so please bear with me and normal transmission and hopefully a more recovered Himself will be back with us as soon as possible.
regards.. Kiwi
