Sentosa Pools of Happiness…

The kids are tired of sightseeing so we head back to the Hotel.

We are staying at the Rasa Sentosa on Singapore’s Sentosa Island.

One of the best things about the hotel is the pool area… and in the tropics if you are on holiday then a great swimming pool is a wonderful place to be, especially if you have children.

I have made this post after our stay here, so as I post this the Rasa Sentosa is currently closed for at least one year for full renovations.

It will be  very interesting to see how this all looks when we return next trip.

There are pools with slides for children as well as a shallow area next to the main pool, so playing with the kids in the water is a great way to cool off after a walk in the sticky heat as we toured around Fort Siloso.

It’s at least 34 C  (93 F) so the kids are practically dried off  between getting out of the pool and walking back to the hotel room after each swim visit…

Certainly the pool area  is one of the biggest  reasons that we are willing to pay more to come and stay here.

Let’s look around…

One person in our family  just can’t wait to get into his swimming costume….

  1. Oh, so nice to see that you DID take a few moments to relax! I was beginning to think you were more on ‘tour’ than on vacation! Lovely hotel and seemingly worth every penny. 🙂

    • We did plenty of both, Singapore is fairly compact so getting to where you want to go doesn’t actually take too long. Sentosa island is wonderful too, more space here at this end of the island and quieter. (ok, not apparently on national holidays and when special events are being held, when apparently it can be beyond busy, but neither of those happened whist we were there so it was all serene and quiet during our stay. The pool area is a total hit with the kids, and when you are travelling and adjusting to time zone shifts, it’s this kind of detail that makes travel with kids pleasurable. The nap I took whilst the kids visited the play area with Himself wasn’t half bad either LOL.

  2. Seeing that pool – I’d give anything to be back in the tropics. When I was living in Asia, pools were my thing, swimming combined with tennis was a real treat. Does the Rasa Sentosa also have tennis courts?

    • No tennis courts that I know of or saw, so I don’t think so, if there were any then I missed them. We were either in our room relaxing, getting changed for the pool or sleeping, or out and about, so used little of the indoor facilities of the hotel (if you don’t count the breakfasts). My parents lived almost six years in the tropics and I visited… ohhh I could get used to it, ok the humidity can be hard to handle of course but there are many plus points to the climate.
