Texel is an excellent place to come for walking.

Even on a very windy day like the 2016 Easter weekend when we where there, the car park near the lighthouse was full and there were plenty of holidaymakers on the beach.

Wheelchairs and crutches not being friends with sand,  I can not join them, so contented myself with photographs of the views around the lighthouse.

In the sunshine it is beautiful,  peaceful, and serene place to walk but I can well imagine that this must be a pretty bleak and lonely place to be on a dark, wintery, stormy night.

  1. One of the things I most miss about living in the UK is the coast. Whenever I go ‘home’, pretty much the first thing I do is go to see the sea. There’s something magnificent, inspiring and healing about walking along a lonely beach watching the changing mood of the sea.

    • Sarsm,
Himself is the same, even though he lives by the sea. I like it too, watching the colours of the waves change after a storm. I miss being able to walk on the beach. I know the kinds of walks you mention, they restore your inner peace, blow the cobwebs from your soul and give your energy back.
