There Is Nothing Old Or Weak about These…

The next two sections of the Sand Sculpture festival in Garderen still follow the “Hunting” theme that was so central to Rien Poortvliet’s artwork. Two large sculptures show various aspects of hunting and the information board translates as: “De jacht” (The hunt)…”going out in bad weather and at night, keeping track of the wind direction observe and look closely at the wildlife. Only weaker or old animals can be hunted, one well aimed shot so that they do not suffer.”
It can be debated that only the old or weaker animals were hunted, but setting that contriversy aside, there is nothing old or weak about these stunning sand sculpture pieces.
