We are staying at the Singapore Swiss Club Guesthouse, the rest of the grounds are beautiful and immaculately tended. A book from the Guesthouse reception told us that: “the land was bought by a Swiss national Mr Otto Alder and several friends in 1871. It was first known as the Swiss Rifle Shooting Club, where he and friends gathered for shooting practice. Today the area of the land is 174,000sqm and is home to not only for the Swiss Club, but also the Swiss, German, Dutch and Korean Schools, the British Club and the Institute of Engineers. In addition, the entire Swiss Embassy compound is situated on Swiss Club land.
The atmosphere is family oriented, a peaceful oasis in the crowded hustle and bussle of Singapore.
