Playground Games…

Still posting about the 2017 Garderen Sand Sculpture exhibition, I’m posting two posts today.

This one is all about children, their love of outdoor activities and the importance of play.

The Information board translates as: ‘To the playground’, “A happy event for all children! It’s great to climb, scramble, swing and slide. Romping around and when you’re tired, just before heading home, an ice cream…

It’s certainly true of our two children, who had energy to burn.

Himself was the stay-at-home parent whilst our kids were young, I worked full time outside the home. Himself was, in the kids opinion, a lot better than me at playing football and had more puff when it came to running around, chasing games of tag.

I have severe asthma so that’s not a surprise, I hope they remember all the occasions when I tried, puffing and wheezing after five or ten minutes and begging for mercy, and leading them to something less physically taxing, like the swings. I did take part in other kid activities though, baking and icing biscuits (cookies)and getting very messy with glue, glitter, paper and the like. This sand piece is of course all about outside activates like hide and seek, slides, and the climbing frame. Funnily enough there will probably always be that one kid not taking part, preferring to sit somewhere and eat something.
