To The Heart Of The City…

Regular readers will know that I adore architectural detail, especially the decorative elements of old buildings. These were the builders who knew a thing or two about the minutiae of every detail, and appreciated the minutiae of each of the elements. In other words, these were people after my own heart. The buildings depicted here are some of oldest and most famous in the Dutch city shoping centers and high streets. The Information board reads:

A daytrip into the city’, “Sauntering under old gables, a cappuccino at an outdoor café, shop till you drop, a boat trip and picking up pieces of the city’s history. Going out for lunch or dinner, or both? Visit a museum, art gallery or theatre, a nice tram ride… Each city has its own character and sights, venture out and discover it all yourself…”
