The Owl Tree, And…

This next post is about one of the large wooden sculptures. It’s a complex piece so I’ll make several posts about it. The first part that puzzles me is that there is a swing on it, but a closer inspection reveals certain details that I am not sure are really “child friendly” for the age of child that enjoys swinging on swings.

Small children would probably be rather upset to see this large part of the log where two rabbits cower at the end of their burrow whilst a fox advances towards them intend on making them his next meal. I’m not disputing that it’s been amazingly carved, I am just scratching my head about the choice of subject matter in a small kids play area.
