The Illustrative Art…

This is the last post  featuring the illustrative cards made by Marette, who also goes by the nick-name “Zentangle, Klokbeker”. She has a website if anyone is interested in her work: “www.marette.123website.nl”. It was apparent that her cards were quite popular, visitors hovered constantly around the table where she was selling cards, waiting to select and buy. I think it’s excellent that she can also sell some of the designs she loves, more power to her!

The “Parels” (Pearls) events that take place throughout the Hague on various weekends are a wonderful initiative: people open up their homes for one (or two) days of the event weekend (or exhibit their work in the local library, church etc.). Visitors get to see some of the amazing artistic talent from within their local community, There are also musical events and people who have built up collections of all sorts of amazing things. Right now I am focusing on the mediums that involve brush and pen, ceramics, jewellery and the like.

I didn’t even get to most of the collections but hopefully they will be “showing” next year too and I can catch up with them then.  Let’s enjoy these beautiful cards from Marette, if you need more contact information than I have posted already, I have it, but not posted it here for reasons of privacy. internet safety and to avoid a mountain of spam in her inbox.

Departures And Arrivals…

(photograph © Kiwidutch) Following on the heels of yesterday’s post, Marette’s black and white line drawings, many filled with colour are made into small cards, and are selling well. These ones follow themes: the first is a large stack of trunks and boxes, the card could be used for someone going on travelling adventures, or just shifting house, locally or otherwise. The others are baby cards… So I thought it appropriate to entitle this post “Departures And Arrivals“.
